i sci fi

in all this science
fiction
you know where people tell stories
that we pass off
as impossible?
and yet how could these stories be written : conceived because nothing can be translated if it is not first conceived of : if they were not possible?
what i am trying to make a case for is that an idea is a conception and if something is conceived it is in a formation stage of existence, it has not been born thus it has not been translated but it has passed the threshold of existence
( here i would go further to say that it existed before even conception, out in the ether of time and space where things are pulled from, but to create a framework to work within lets just say that conception, ie: to conceive is the starting point of existence)

i am going to go ahead and say that this is not a new idea^
this is, in fact, maybe, indisputable
and so clearly linked to the discourse (an attempt to be generous to our society's methods working through an idea) of abortion.
but what i am talking about is not life or the value of life or the prism *here (hear) the difference between prism and prison* of socially constructed barriers to sustaining and nurturing life
what i am talking about is the filling of a space where there was not something before

it is like this:
there is a piece of fabric
it seems flat, it seems impenetrable, it seems seamless
but the fabric is made of strings as all fabric is
and those strings overlay each other
tightly
in different directions (usually horizontal and vertical but here out in space directions do not mean as much there are not other flat planes to compare it to)
the strings create the perception of a surface (if here surface means a layer that is completely solid)
but they have not been melded together, thus they remain separate
thus they have space between them

this is what happens.
this is how far away i can meander
but it always feels important to cover ground
to make the relation to understand where i am coming from.
these ideas are not science,
i am not making any claim for or against preexisting structures of study or of ethics.
this is empirical only in my perception and only for a time
it is just me, trying to trace my thoughts here.
to be accountable to them but pulling them into the world and examining them
and also giving them the space to, then, move on their way, take new shapes, keep flowing.

so essentially with this fabric thing:
the strings that make up the surface are only held together through tension and can be separated by some kind of oppositional force that pulls them apart. thus a space is created.
when something is conceived of, it is the force that pulls the strings apart
and begins to fill that space. the fuller the conception : the more time of gestation (we are really talking about birth here and contrary to the way it can be funneled in our common discourse human brith is not the only kind of birth that happens, nor birth of "life forms" : animate beings)
the more complete the process of gestation: coming into being, the more space is taken up by that which is coming into being, the more full the process of coming into being, the more concrete the form of that which is becoming, becomes. until then, through some kind of alchemical process (which may or may not have an explanation via modern science) it shifts from immaterial conception to conception that uses the sensory : tangible matter of the world.

this is my case for science fiction. that everything which has ever been written in science fiction is not actually fiction in that it cannot exist because it does exist, since it was written. and because of that it can be further translated, further gestated, into the material world, our material world.
